What to see around here
TRASIMENO LAKE
The area of Lake Trasimeno, an area suspended between Umbria and Tuscany, is distinguished by the extreme variety of the landscape, by the innumerable shades of green, by the rounded hills that frame the mirror of the lake. For territorial and cultural continuity, Trasimeno is closely linked to the nearby Valdichiana, with the famous Cortona, to the Val d'Orcia, between the provinces of Siena and Arezzo, and to the areas of Orvieto, Corciano, Perugia and Assisi.
IN THE AREA
There are some of the most beautiful villages in Umbria: Passignano and Castiglione are directly overlooking the shores of Lake Trasimeno; numerous other villages perched on the surrounding hills host pearls of ancient Etruscan, Romanesque and Renaissance past.
If you are passionate about excursions and nature you can organize yourself for birdwatching, or for the circumnavigation of the lake by bicycle.
Worth noting is the visit to the islands of the lake that can be reached by boat.
The wine areas of the Trasimeno Hills are nearby.
All the major historical centers of Umbria can be reached for day trips: Perugia, Assisi, Foligno, Spello, Spoleto, Gubbio, Todi and the Marmore Waterfall Park.
